Adyen’s Annual Report needed to showcase its defining asset —its people— but the global pandemic made traditional photography impossible. We faced the risk of publishing a sterile financial document just when the market and stakeholders were desperate for a human view inside the business.
solution
I initiated a personal touch in the Annual report around personal experiences, photos and quotes of employees: from designers, product managers to our management board. For this I orchestrated a globally and "socially distanced" photoshoot in over 7 different countries. to capture employees in their own homes. This involved sourcing and remotely art-directing 12 different photographers to create a unified visual style.
Transforming the report from a standard financial disclosure into a vibrant cultural showcase. The final output was highly acclaimed both internally and externally for its authenticity, successfully visualizing the resilience, a strong sense of belonging and culture despite the physical separation.
